Here's the current WIP IPA collection from the iPhoneOS Obscura archival project. The project aims to preserve older iOS apps and prevent them from being lost to time. Most of these apps are delisted from the App Store and no longer accessible for download, but not all.
Check IPAList.txt for a list of the IPAs in the archive and the folder they're located in. A list of contributors is in "Project Contributors.txt"
The folder called "PossiblyBroken" is full of IPAs that may be broken or incomplete. If
something you've been looking for is in there, try installing it and
maybe it'll work. None have been tested. If the app is broken, there is
likely nothing you can do. They have been uploaded for preservation
sake.
Every IPA has been properly sorted by minimum iOS version, but keep in mind there are duplicates of the same app versions. These were kept due to the files having different hashes. iOS 11 and above cannot install and use 32bit apps, so keep that in mind.
Most apps are properly decrypted, however not everything has been tested and some might be encrypted still. There are just too many apps to test them all.
If you find an IPA that's not properly decrypted and asks for an Apple ID prompt, please join our Discord and let us know which IPA it is. If the app is for iOS 6 and below, you can get it to work with the guide below.
TLDR: On iOS 6, you can fix apps that prompt you to login to an Apple ID if you follow what's said below.
You can decrypt the Apple ID locked IPAs using an iOS 6 decryption bug that doesn't require you to have the original ID tied to the IPA.
- Here's how to perform the bug.
- After skipping the Apple ID prompt, the app should work as usual until you reboot. Now you can use clutch and decrypt the app. Here's a guide on how to dump the apps with clutch. Go to the iOS 6 section and follow that.
- Once you've dumped the IPA, you can just delete the original app and install the new IPA you just dumped. It should work without requiring the Apple ID now.
This project has been worked on for about a year through using scraping scripts and manual scraping of many old forums and file hosts. As well as hundreds of user submissions through our Discord.
Massive thanks to r/LegacyJailbreak for helping with the project.
